My projects are characterised by a focus on community, on jumping off points which reveal the particularities of a community's history and identity. In an era of globalisation, and the unnatural shininess of social media, I prefer to search out unglossy authenticity. It is as if I need to verify to myself that I, broken and slightly frayed at the edges, can still find commonalities and small things to dream, celebrate or laugh about with my fellow humans.
